Arwa Palanpurwala - legal Intern
Arwa is a researcher, advocate, and strategist focused on the intersection of privacy, technology, and racial justice. Her work explores how state surveillance disproportionately targets marginalized groups, and how legal frameworks can better protect against state and corporate overreach. As a J.D. student, Arwa has worked on impact litigation, policy analysis, and community-centered legal projects addressing digital privacy, discriminatory policing, and algorithmic bias and has published on surveillance, economic agency, and gender in Muslim communities. Arwa brings an interdisciplinary approach grounded in critical theory, social equity, and practical impact. She believes in building technological futures rooted in dignity, accountability, and freedom from surveillance harms.
