Electeds, Advocates Rally Against Facial Recognition Before City Council Hearing On Bans
(New York, NY 6/6/24) – On Monday, June 10th at 9:00am EST the Surveillance Technology Oversight Project (S.T.O.P), Fight for the Future, The Legal Aid Society, Center on Race, Inequality, and the Law at NYU Law, and New York City Council Members Shahana Hanif and Carlina Rivera will rally to ban facial recognition and other biometric surveillance preceding a 10:00am EST City Council hearing with the Committee on Technology discussing bills to ban the use of facial recognition and other biometric surveillance by landlords and businesses.
