Back-to-School Surveillance

Back-to-School Surveillance

Friend,

As cops use flock cameras to stalk their exes, massive venues rely on facial recognition technology and AI companies constantly push the boundaries of data collection, it's now more important than ever to understand how we can protect ourselves from surveillance.

With back-to-school season in full swing, S.T.O.P. is going back to the basics of privacy, safety and resistance with our Power Down Surveillance webinar series. Join us Wednesday, September 16 at 3 p.m. EST, for a virtual masterclass on digital self-defense, personal cybersecurity, and how and when to exercise your rights against law enforcement.

In this session, S.T.O.P. will review the core things to know about shutting down the surveillance in your life. From license plate trackers to social media monitoring, how is our data collected and who has access to it? How do we avoid tracking, hacking and phishing as it becomes increasingly prevalentboth online and outside?’

Facilitated by S.T.O.P.'s Advocacy & Community Engagement Manager Corinne Worthington, this session is designed as an introduction for individuals, activists, and civil society groups who want to understand surveillance tactics—and what you can do to keep your life private.
