Spark Prize Announcement

An exciting announcement to kick off 2026! 🎉
Friend,

As we start the new year, we’re thrilled to share that we’ve been selected as a recipient of the 2026 Brooklyn Org Spark Prize! ! The Brooklyn Org Spark Prize annually provides grants of $100,000 to each of five outstanding Brooklyn organizations advancing racial justice and addressing critical challenges in our communities. We are incredibly grateful to be in company with a powerful cohort of Brooklyn-based organizations making monumental changes in our home base.

This support is a powerful vote of confidence in our mission and in the community that makes it possible. With this grant of $100,000, we’ll be able to expand the impact of our work, creating opportunities on the ground to equip New Yorkers with the tools they need to protect themselves from unwarranted surveillance, and continue building toward a more surveillance-free future.

We’re deeply grateful to the Brooklyn Org for their commitment and belief in our work, especially as one of the first major foundations to fund our work at our start! We also want to thank you—our partners, supporters, and community members—who have helped bring us to this moment. This win belongs to all of us.

More to come soon—we can’t wait to share what’s next!
With gratitude,
Leticia Murillo
Development Manager
