Condemns Trump Call To Ban State AI Regulations (New York, NY, 11/19/2025) – Today, the Surveillance Technology Oversight Project (S.T.O.P.), a New York-based privacy and civil rights group, condemns President Trump’s call to ban state legislatures from passing laws regulating artificial intelligence. On Tuesday, Trump called on Congress to add a provision to the National Defense Authorization Act or pass a separate bill to create a federal AI standard and effectively ban state AI regulation.
