ICE has long deployed invasive, undemocratic spyware against immigrant communities and activists; but passage of Trump’s so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” has given the agency a multibillion-dollar slush fund to spend on new spyware.

From real-time facial recognition to iris scanning to 24/7 social media monitoring, we’ll discuss the technologies driving deportations and ICE’s crackdown on protesters and observers. Facilitated by S.T.O.P. Executive Director Michelle Dahl, this session is a “101” for individuals, activists, and civil society groups eager to learn more about ICE’s surveillance tactics—and what local lawmakers must do to protect our privacy and civil rights.
