End NY Surveillance State: An Evening of Action to Resist Surveillance & Immigration Policing

Join the Immigrant Defense Project, Surveillance Technology Oversight Project, and The Legal Aid Society for an evening of action to resist the use of surveillance technology and information sharing which criminalize Black, Brown, and immigrant communities. We’ll talk about the urgent need to end use of the rogue DNA database, police use of biometric surveillance, and ending local law enforcement collaboration with ICE by passing three New York State bills:

1. End Rogue DNA Database (S1347/A6124)
2. Ban on Police Use of Biometric Surveillance Ban (S79/A5492)
3. Ending Local Law Enforcement Collaboration with ICE (The NY4All Act, S3076/A2328)

In addition to hearing from advocates on these bills, we’ll participate in virtual actions to push lawmakers to prioritize these issues that impact our communities this session.

Moderated by Mazin Sidahmed, Co-Executive Director of Documented.
