Kate Marriott- Advocacy Intern
Katherine C. Marriott (Kate) is the 2026 Summer Advocacy Intern at the Surveillance Technology Oversight Project. Kate graduated from Wesleyan University in 2025 with a B.A. from the College of Social Studies, where she wrote her undergraduate thesis on the U.S. government's surveillance of undocumented migrants. Her background includes local government and advocacy experience as a Communications Intern in the Office of the New York City Public Advocate, where she promoted youth political engagement and advised the Communications Team on improving social media engagement with young users. Since graduating, she has worked for a number of immigration legal non-profits that provide free legal services to individuals undergoing the immigration process. Kate is excited to bring her experience in advocacy and civic engagement to STOP's mission of fighting discriminatory surveillance.
