Friend,
Across New York City and State, ICE is turning everyday spaces into sites of fear. People are being arrested at courthouses in NYC, targeted on upstate farms, and pulled from their communities without warning. These aren’t isolated incidents – they disrupt families, workplaces, and schools.
The NY4All campaign, led by the New York Immigration Coalition, is pushing for reforms that protect due process, limit ICE’s access to local resources, and prevent enforcement in sensitive spaces like courthouses. In short, it’s about keeping communities safe and families together.
Every day without reform, people live in fear – unsure if going to court, seeking care, or sending their kids to school could put them at risk. Albany can’t wait – New Yorkers need these protections now.
That urgency is only growing. This week, Gov. Hochul dismissed the need for NY4All, claiming the current system is “working.” But we know that isn’t true — especially as Trump expands 287(g) agreements that deepen local collaboration with ICE and supercharge deportation pipelines.
We urge Gov. Hochul and the New York State Legislature to pass NY4All immediately. This is a critical step towards safeguarding access to education and public services for all students and residents, regardless of immigration status. Recent expansions of citywide surveillance technologies further underscore the need for policies that protect privacy and civil rights.
This week, S.T.O.P. joined NYIC up in Albany lobbying lawmakers to move NY4All forward — now we need them to hear from all of us, too.
Use NYIC’s advocacy tool to urge passage of NY4All and make your voice heard.
Together, we can make New York a state where families stay together, communities stay safe, and due process is protected.
