Lauren Wu, Esq., CIPP/US, is currently the Head of Privacy and Senior Director of Legal for Regulatory & Compliance for Evidation Health, a company whose mission is to empower everyone to participate in better health outcomes and whose platform is built upon a foundation of user privacy and control over permissioned health data. Lauren is a privacy industry influencer and advocate, passionate privacy, regulatory and compliance attorney, and enabler of ethical data stewardship to advance health innovation.

Lauren has significant experience in privacy, regulatory and healthcare fraud and abuse law.  Prior to joining Evidation, Lauren served as Senior Counsel, Chief Privacy Officer (Data Protection Officer & U.S. Privacy Officer) at Roche Molecular as well as as Senior Corporate Counsel, U.S. Privacy Officer, and Interim U.S. Compliance Officer at Genomic Health, Inc. (now Exact Sciences).  She also spent a number of years in private practice as a Healthcare associate at Ropes & Gray LLP (SF) and Healthcare and FDA legal / legislative assistant at Sidley Austin LLP (DC). Lauren is an alumna of the University of Southern California (Fight on, Trojans!) and Northwestern University School of Law (Go Wildcats!). She is a frequent panelist on life science and healthcare-related privacy topics and recently co-authored an article that appeared in the American Bar Association Health eSource entitled, "Building a Pragmatic Framework to Advance Data-Driven Healthcare Research and Innovation" (Sept 2020). A former ballerina and college football recruiter, Lauren enjoys cooking, wine, travel (@ least pre-covid), gardening, and spending time with her husband and two beautiful daughters (one of whom could say "GDPR" before the age of 1).
