Friend,
I’m thrilled to introduce myself, Katherine Corr, as the new Development Manager at the Surveillance Technology Oversight Project (S.T.O.P.)!
It’s an honor to join S.T.O.P. at a crucial moment in our organization’s growth. As the federal government uses biometric tools and private data to target immigrants, AI expands the reach of surveillance technology, and the NYPD is growing its network of monitoring tools, S.T.O.P.’s ability to hold those in power accountable, combat systemic failure, craft new policy, and educate communities has never been more important.
As Development Manager, I will lead S.T.O.P.’s fundraising and development, supporting our litigation, research, legislative advocacy, and public programming. From advocating for bills to ban facial recognition and geolocation tracking to filing new FOIL litigation to publishing on digital privacy and surveillance, we’ve got an ambitious agenda ahead of us. My focus will be to expand the fundraising that makes our work possible, securing the resources necessary for a sustainable and determined fight against surveillance.
I’m especially excited to lead #PowerDownSurveillance, our 2026 campaign to support new litigation with national civil liberties partners, public education to mobilize communities, and early-warning research and rapid response.
Before joining S.T.O.P., I held a development and communications role at IGNITE Worldwide, a nonprofit providing equitable STEM and skilled trades programming for girls and gender-diverse students in Title 1 and tribal schools. Bringing a versatile range of expertise in nonprofit strategy and social justice, I will expand the foundation of support that facilitates and empowers our mission.
After just a few weeks, I’m already amazed by S.T.O.P.’s community and supporters as we fight to end surveillance and vindicate civil rights. I’m thrilled to join the team!
