Landlord Facial Recognition Ban

Status: In Senate Committee

Bill Number: S73 & A4352

Bill Sponsor: Sen. Brad Hoylman & Rep. Latrice Walker

S.T.O.P. supports Senate Bill S73 and Assembly Bill A4352, which ban landlords from using facial recognition technology on any residential premise. Residential biometric surveillance is opposed by tenant rights and privacy advocates, especially its targeted deployment in low-income and publicly-financed housing developments.
